Shaz, When Should I Get a Custom Script?
Posted on 17. Oct, 2008 by $haz in General
I have had a couple of questions from readers asking me when they should invest money in a custom script. To answer that I believe you should first look at your goals, how serious you are about your company, and how much traffic you can drive.
First, if you are looking to make this a part time job and as a source of extra income, I do not believe that you should invest in a custom script. The fact is, custom scripts (if done correct) cost a good amount of money. You will need anywhere around $10,000+ to build a good custom script, so you should start saving up. In order for you to become successful, you will have to devote all your time into your company, not just a part of your time. So what I suggest is look at your goals and how much time you can devote to your company. If your goal is to be one of the well established incentive companies and you can devote 24 hours a day, then keep reading. If not, stop here and comment on how cool I am, thanks.
Second, think about how serious you are about your company. Have you done all the research required to become successful? Do you know who your top competitors are? Do you know why they are successful? How will you set yourself apart. Now if you’re saying, “I will have 24/7 support, great converting campaigns, promotions, etc,” then just stop here and comment on how cool I am, thanks. That will not set you apart from your competitors, you will need to think of unique ways that will make your company stand out. This is a serious business, it’s not something that will make you rich overnight. I hate people who believe this is some get rich quick scheme, this is why the market is over saturated and fraud levels are high. If you’re serious about your company and will take the necessary steps to be successful, keep reading. If not, well you know what to do, thanks.
Last, if you receive a good amount of traffic (or know a good way to gain traffic) and have established yourself as a somewhat serious company, then I believe you are ready to take the next step. Again, a custom script will cost a good amount of money, if you can’t bring the traffic then the custom script will put you at a loss.
Set goals. Be serious. Research. I believe if you do those 3 things, you will be successful.

Good post.
I am currently saving up for a custom script. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll have enough money. Hoping this get rich quick scheme actually works.
Kidding of course.

Honestly, its all about being unique. I honestly have a few ideas that would be great when it comes to making a unique script. Some “unique” features for the admin.
Have a C++ program written where you can track all of your offers and offer completions, support tickets, rewards, etc. from your Desktop.
Let’s see how long it takes for freebie sites to start implementing this unique idea.
